I know there is many ways to skin this cat but I'm needing readers now for things up close so when I'm shooting with regular safety glasses the sights are really blurry. What have people been doing to solve this besides shooting open in IPSC lol.

William, when I started shooting IDPA and IPSC I had the same problem. I went to Benson's downtown and they fixed me up. Right eye corrected and focussed for my front sight and the left for the targets. I am on my second set and they work really well.

Just had this same talk with my optometrist. I highly recommend you talking to the optometrist about your particular needs. They'll get you exactly what you need for the shooting sports.
I have one friend with tri focals in those huge 80's dinner plate sized galsses and another with the dominant eye close and the non-dominant eye far. Lots of options.

Thanks John. I know some people also get progressives with it clear at the top above the sights. I'm not sure which way would be better.
did you get them online or at an optometrist?

My right lens is a straight reading lens and the left is progressive. Works good for shooting and close up work like scorekeeping.

William I got my glasses from local Industrial sales store, just south of Tim Hortons off of Keith.
Optometrist just down the street from you sent the insert off with my corrective info. Works well and if you happen to scratch the outer glass you can just go down and buy another set and use the insert with your correction.

Have same sight issue. Which models of Smith optic glasses and goggles are you using that allows you to swap the Rx insert btwn the two?
Currently using bifocal contacts with yellow tint shooting glasses. Like the yellow tint glasses as they work well outdoors and indoors in poorly lit ranges. Contacts however often irritate my eyes and not sure optician has got my prescription right yet. Ideally would like a yellow tint RX pair of shooting glasses with dominate eye focus on ft sight and non dominate set for distance. Seeing optician again this afternoon to try and sort this out once and for all.
