Shooting Lead Shot thru a Rifled Barrel

I have an Ithaca Model 37 for which I also have a rifled barrel. I have often wondered, would it do the rifled barrel any harm if I were to put some SSG's through it rather than the sabots?

You'll get some interesting patterns. Any type of shot quickly spreads from a rifled barrel.

I dont think it will hurt the barrel at all, but you'll end up with a big donut looking pattern.

Rifled barrels are best for Sabot's tho

Moral of the story? Firing shotshells through rifled shotgun barrels causes donut-shaped patterns and will result in wasted ammunition and no dinner.
