Shooting Mat/Bag Recommendations

I decided to try this one and am very glad I did..

I got it off of Amazon.com for $79 and i think Amazon.ca has it too. It has turned out to be very versatile and well made. Strong zippers and attachment points, plus has harness straps to carry on your back. I added a molle pouch to the outside for more carry items and so far nothing interferes with my prone position yet everythng I need is within easy reach. I understand there are times or conditions that warrant a seperate mat and case, but there are also times when a combined unit is the way to go and this one has been great. I love it when I am practicing longer range unknown distances. I will set up one target and when I need to pack up my equipment/rifle/ammo to move to a further range this mat combo folds everything quickly and efficiently and i just throw it on my back and start walking to a new distance. It also works great when doing this off my quad..the less gear and more efficient I can be the better.

Looks pretty similar to my Black Mountain Tactical. Different internal pockets and without all the silly ties hanging off of it. Little bit cheaper too, I wonder how the quality compares.

Thanks,
Cal.

A mat is a mat, and a case is a case. I personally would not combine the two. With the combo case/mat and you are shooting in wet/muddy/dusty weather/areas you would be placing your rifle in a wet/dirty case at the end of the day.

This! I agree 100%
