Shooting pouches?

I prefer a belt and pouch. I always liked the look of the vest, but always figured that I didn't want to have an extra layer on during the heat of summer, so I went with the leather stuff. Most of the stuff I have is Shamrock Leathers. Nice stuff, reasonable price. Their website is shamrockleathers.com

I don't care much for vests. I don't like the weight of the shells pulling on my shoulder(s). I find it uncomfortable and restricting. I use a Shamrock Leathers shell pouch and shell bag.

They do very nice leather work.

I like the towel clip.

A shell pouch and mesh bag look like a good summer option, Any thoughts / opinions on the clip on vs the belt loop type?
Thanks

I have the belt loop style box holders and pouches and a clip on style mesh bag, as the mesh bags hold a little over 100 hulls, so you can dump the hulls after each event without taking off the rest of the gear. Mainly just a personal preference.

I was looking at there stuff. The prices arent bad but their shipping is crazy. 40$ shipping just for a 25 shell pouch.

If you get anything shipped here from the US, the cost is crazy. US Postal Service is the best way to go, for most items. I've always purchased my Shamrock Leather stuff at a shoot where they have been vending. The first stuff was at the old Grand in Ohio. If you have a friend or relative that lives in the US and you see them regularly, you could have it shipped there.

Thats the problem , i dont have any freinds or family in the us and i dont even have a passport so i cant cross myself and im far enough away from the border it would be cost prohibitive to have it shipped over there.

The way I look at it is a few extra bucks added on the cost of a good quality item is far ahead of buying something you won't be happy with and then purchasing the better item later. Probably cheaper in the long run paying to ship the good one.

I have a bob allen divided pouch and a allen single shell box holder. when I shoot I put my misses in one side and my hits on the other easy of count after round.

I have a browning mesh vest and a wide hare hare shooting coat ( I got my coat a Hydro Elite from Silver Willow too but they are not cheap), I find putting a box of shells in either puts either off balance for me so that's why I use both above.

I was just on the gun dealer site and they have two vest in their yard sale for 25 buck each 1 right and 1 left hand

Kids gave me a 2 pouch Berettta pouch. Works well enough I never actually thought I needed anything else (maybe I settle too easy?)

Just checked the gun dealer but that left handed vest is 3 sizes too small. :(

A pouch works well on the trap or skeet range but I found that a vest was much better on the sporting clay's range. Not that you can't use a pouch for sporting but I can keep my choke tubes in one pocket so that I can change them out quickly if need be and I often carry two types of ammo for different sets so the extra pockets are handy.
Mesh vest for the hot days, a light jacket for cooler days and a warm jacket for winter.... all set!

I use the Beretta Terrain Shotgun Shell Pouch. I got it from Al Flaherty's. I much prefer it to a vest. Sold my old vest here on the EE... Never looked back.

I have been using the same Vest since 1976, I built myself a leather pouch in the late 80's so I could wear a heavier cost during the winter. Didn't like the pouch so I bought a shooting specific winter shooting coat that holds the shells. It is basically a vest with sleeves and insulation. Wear and use whatever works for you. It is a personal choice and preference, there is no right or wrong.
