(Can this be Stickied ?)

I have looked all over and been unable to find any other threads on 'games' to play at the range when simple 'on target' shooting gets a touch monotonous or just to mix up your target acquisition & such.

Here are a couple I play with friends:

1) Ducks :
Shoot across one line of the duck targets in the fewest number of shots (one clip MAX). We usually play at 7 yards, but increase difficulty with increasing distance, adding a timer (like 10-15 seconds), reducing the number of shots allowed or Holstering & shooting (try this one... 2 rounds per mag, 3 mags, 15 second limit !)

Easy mode - Hit yellow,
Difficult - hit the circle target,
Impossible - hit the TINY Center dot.

2) Classic game of 'JACKASS' (or DONKEY) :
Using any odd target with multiple targets (Dartboard, deck of cards, Zombie target). First - one shot closest to center to determine who shoots first, then each person takes 3 shots to hit his intended marks & the next person has to replicate those shots (at least hitting the same target). If one thing is missed, player gets a letter. Continue until one person spells out 'Jackass' - they lose. (betting a coffee, drink or lunch for later makes it ALOT more fun).

**please share games you play with friends at the range to mix things up !

Some good ideas here thanks. I get bored punching paper and lately have been mixing it up a bit by doing drills like the el presedente drill. Another idea is playing poker like they did in an episode of top shot, best five card poker hand wins shooting 7 rounds alternating from 15y.

I'd use the zombie target but it would probably be against the range rules, which forbid any human sillouhette targets unless you're law enforcement.

Anyone got any good drills involving a holster?

at our club we are not allowed to use any target that resembles a human. i think a pic of a person fine but whats the big deal about a silhowette?

^ probably. It is a stupid rule but it's an outdoor range so more freedom to practice drills and stuff like that then at Pheonix or Wild West.

Any clue if a zombie target is indeed allowed?
