shooting slugs or steel through a stevens 311?

I have a stevens 311 sxs modified chokes, would shooting slugs or steel bust my barrell? Someone here also told me to use tungsten matrix instead of steel.

So what else can i shoot outta my shotgun? I wanna try something other than target loads!!

Most slugs could be used without harm. Read the box to see if there are any warnings. Steel shot may ring the muzzles. If this happens, the damage may only be cosmetic. You are only required to use non-lead shot for migratory bird hunting.
Incidentally, the chance of having both barrels shoot slugs to about the same point of inpact is low. You might find that one barrel will work better with slugs than the other.
