Shooting Slugs Through a Waterfowl Gun with an IC Choke

...it grouped high and to the right (about 6-7" high, 2-3" to the right). Only sight is the front stock fibre sight. Gun is 28" barrel SuperNova. Shooting at 25 yard distance (shortest distance at club). Ammo is Score Low Recoil 1300fps 2 3/4"

My daughter thinks the gun is too big (length) for me. She said the same thing about my 18" barrel SuperNova tactical, but I can shoot great groups with slugs out of that one, and that one has front post and rear ghost ring.

It is no surprise that your point of impact is off when using a single front bead, and that it's much better when you have both a front and rear sight. When you have the pair, you are forced to put your eye where it aligns with the sights. When you just have the one, your eye lands where the shape of the stock and your skull puts it.

I would think think shimming the comb would make things worse. Your eye is going to land higher, and your instinct is going to be to lift the muzzle to bring the bead up into line, increasing the POI further.

To me, you need a taller front sight. Maybe something with a magnetic base, or a 3D printed plastic post that clips onto the rib, assuming you want to be able to quickly switch back to birdshot.

Not sure what a waterfowl gun has to do with anything a smooth bore 729-735 Dia is the same as any other 12 ga gun

As far as choke contrary to popular belief foster slugs generally shoot better thru tighter chokes full or mod

That's what it used to say on the old boxes, except that they recommended full choke only.
