sure you could improve, and I wouldnt be the one to tell you not to experiment, but that gun will kill anything inside half a kilometer if you hold right. :)

That's a nice mild load, and it should serve you well. I agree with the guys who say that you don't really need to experiment any further for hunting purposes.

On the other hand, you may be able to get even better results if you play a little more. FYI, I've heard that somewhere in the vicinity of 66-67 grains of IMR 7828 is the sweet spot for 150-grain bullets in the 7mm Remington Magnum. It's actually one of Ken Waters' pet loads.

looking at the powder charge, it should be mild (didnt see that before)

might want to utilize the performance of the 7mm RM and add some powder :D if you want a 7-08, buy a 7-08!

Gibbs. if you have a jug kicking around load a few 160s to 65.0 grains with RL-22, all my 7mm came to life with this powder offering max velocity, and un real accuracy, vs 4831, 4350s and 7828 powders.

I know each gun is different but I have 4 7mms 2 mags and 2 Rums, and that was the answer.

Both 160s and 140s shot great with full loads. I topped it up to 67.5 gr of rl-22 with 140s.

Or not. You can use your 7mag as a 7-08 all the time. You can't use a 7-08 as a 7mag ever.:D

I have had similar results using Retumbo, awsome accuracy and velocity.

It is nearly sacrelige to have such nice wood on a rifle, then have it topped with a Tasco. I have a few spare Leupolds around that would look much more in place on that rifle. Like a Vintage 6x42 with the 'cherry' gloss finish.

More powder, 7828, did not help, so I tried H4831. Here is the result!

The first three shots went into about three quaters of an inch and the forth blew the group out to just under one and a half inches!

The load was 60grns H4831 in remmington brass. Primer is Winchester Large Magnum; bullet is 175 grn Hornady spire point.
