My Nemesis 308 is treaded to take a muzzlebrake, a treaded cap or a suppressor, my question is will accuracy or POI will be different with the break or without... JP.
nope it shouldnt change POI and accuracy generally increases due to the less recoil the shooter has to deal with, you may need to retune your load just a hair, as adding a muzzle brake may change barrel harmonics just a tad due to the added weight
I am already tuned for the brake, when i will go to Maynard competition, i will have to put the treaded cap because brake are not allowed, on Friday i will shoot my proven 208 gr Match without the brake to see for scope adjustements or if the group open up, will have to devellop a load for the non-brake... POI may change slightly, the gases at the end of the barrel will be distributed differently as the bullet exits without the brake. The load should still work.
Best to test as you will compete. For precision shooting, a tenth of a grain can show benefits on a paper target. So a brake on and off can affect your load tuning.
For field shooting, you may not see any difference.
