At our club 25s are pretty much a weekly thing, 50s more like every month or two, and 75 is more like every year or two. I haven't witnessed a 100, at our club, in over 10 years.

It wasn't a thing when I was shooting in the late 60's, early 70's. A rather weird custom. The squad should be buying the shooter drinks...

I shot one weekend with a fellow who was over 400 straight with his 20 gauge.

400 straight is quite a feat even with a 12 bore let alone a 20!

I used to shoot with a fellow who once shot 498/500 at a registered trap shoot back in the 80's but I can't remember at what point he dropped those two targets.

I shot trap with a guy that broke his first 100 and then, in the next event, broke his first 200. Never done it before or since but he was on that day.

If I had a $500 cowboy hat on when I hit 25 straight, it would get shot. Then end up in my gunroom as a trophy.

I guess that is why some clubs only do it for 100, a very small percentage of shooters run 100 straight , while 25 is quite common.
