hey guys,

i have a Tikka T3X CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor that i am looking for but a scope for. right now i have a temporary scope on there (vortex crossfire II 6-24) which i am borrowing from my 308.

the purpose of this rifle is strictly bench shooting. i mostly shoot at 100m but do take it out to 200m and 300m on occasion.

one scope has caught my eye which is the sightron siii 6-24x50 FFP MOA-2. do any of you own this and what are your opinions on it?

what other scopes should i be considering as well? something with 20X or 24X magnification. FFP would be a nice bonus. budget is $1500.

I have an S3 6-24x50 MOA2 but in SFP.
It is a great scope, fantastic glass and turrets. For the money you can't go wrong in my opinion.
I have it on my Savage 308 and have shot this combination out to 800 meters.

You could get a nice FFP Vortex for your price point. There is a Viper PST 6-24 FFP for 1100 bucks on the EE right now. That leaves you $400 for ammo....

i saw that but im looking for something with MOA reticle.
im also hearing that sightron's glass is better when going over 20X

FFP for 100m (or 200-300m) bench shooting is kind of pointless. You are not going to be ranging anything, and will likely be set on highest magnification all the time.
Why do you think you need FFP?

Sightron III 8-32 is a gem.
And yes, I have NF, S&B as well.
But for your budget and ranges you will love that scope.
You won't be ranging, and you will be happy with the increased magnification.
They come up from time to time on the EE.

the only use I see for FFP scopes is on my long range hunting rigs. to range, I use a laser range finder. I just dont rely on estimations.( I dont shoot prs match, there are no ranges around)

SIII scopes is probably the best bang for your bucks out there. way ahead of vortex . I had both in 6-24 I now have a SIII 8-32 and it has been beat up like hell on snowmobile rides and never lost zero

thanks for the insight, guys.

i ended up buying a sightron s-tac 4-20x50 from tom at go big tactical. saved myself a few bucks along the way too. decided that FFP would be nice to have but not necessary.
