My Charles Daly .243 (Zastava 98) had a stamped steel block riveted/welded into the mag box ( I can't remember now as I removed it when I had it rechambered to 6mm-06AI) and a short follower. There was nothing to limit bolt travel.
Velocity should be decent as I have been using .240 Wby max loads as a start, then going up two more grains. These seem pretty mild yet. I plan on doing a bit more load development using the 85gr TSX. Should be a great antelope gun if i ever get drawn for a tag.Lol...great minds think alike! Except I was thinking of the non-AI version. What kind of performance are you getting out of it? Did you just rechamber it, or did you swap out the barrel?
you won't rechamber a 243 to 6-06 without setting it back at least 3/8".The AI version will clean up without setback.
You could also go to a 6mm-284 without barrel setback.
Why? I can see the potential issue with the 6mm Rem...but with the 6mm-06?
