Is there any possibility of getting a quality manufacturer on board with supplying these?

Say, CZ, to avoid US export regs.

Have any importers tried?

Why do the US export regs effect coach guns, I am curious because I see Stoeger now has single trigger coach guns available, so will these not be available in Canada

As far as I'm aware they won't export any -18.5" barrel shotguns from the US (at least not consistently and in quantity for civilian end users) and manufacturers don't bother making them anyway since they are a legal headache for purchasers in the US.

You're close. The restrictions apply to shotguns with 16 inch or shorter barrels. US civilians can (and do) purchase short barrel shotguns (or SBS's as they refer to them) in decent quantities; all they have to do is pay the ATF tax stamp and they're free to buy their SBS.

Many retailers in Canada already offer CZ products. However, it's Coachguns, like those offered by other current manufacturers are equipped with 20 inch barrels.

Out of curiosity, what difference does 18.5in bbl length make on a breechloading shotgun when compared to one with a 20in bbl?

krausb,

16" is for rifles, shotguns are 18.5" where you need to pay the tax stamp in the us.

4Horse,

I don't want 18.5, I'd like 14 or possibly a little less.

We have a new Turkish brand on board. We expect them to supply us with a shot SXS, maybe even a O/U, next year. They are beautiful guns.

Sounds good. The Turks make some nice guns, shotguns particularly. I'll keep my eyes open! It's just...DAMN those CZ coach guns are so damn hot.

Does anyone make a coach gun with internal hammers? Or is that technology not appropriate for a coach gun?

Ive always liked the idea of a coach gun. Its really the perfect truck gun for camping and exploring. BUt I think that I would be even MORE interested in buying one if it had a barrel under 18". Otherwise it might be more cost effective to buy a cheaper sxs and make your own.

Stoeger / Boito does 20" internal hammer

Wow those are quite pretty. I like the Condor outback aswell, which is an over/under shorty. Im quite surprised at the reasonable pricing. Still I wonder what they would be offered at in canada.

The Condor Outback is going for $500 at leBarons, not too bad. $445 for the 20" coach gun blued.
