Short barrel/fake can question

First, is there any source in Canada or the USA for a 8ish inch threaded barrel?

Secondly, does anyone make a fake can that goes back over the barrel?

I'm thinking a FS556 with a setup like that on it might look pretty cool.

Fabsports sells the short barrels. Check their website.They sell fake cans too, but not the kind you are referring to. I too would be interested in a reverse. I don't know how well they would work on such a short barrel.

What is the purpose of a fake can? I may be int. if it provides significant accuracy improvements for my .300 Whisper.

Fabsports is out of stock on the shorties. The fake can would totally be for looks. I was thinking the FS556 stock might look pretty cool without a handguard, and just a fake can going back to the reciever.

Your idea for the FS556 with no handguard and the fake can would look sweet. Again, if you find one before me, let me know. I'll still keep looking.
