i own a geha and with the lenght of the action there is no way you will be close to 26 inches with a 18 inch barrel. why are you cutting one down btw i just cant think of much use for a bolt action 2 1/2 inch (assuming there 12 gadge) shot gun with no choke. for the $100 you would sell it for you could pick up a single shot break action made for 2 3/4 shells trim that barrel down still have a stock and be quite a bit shorter (still over 26 in)

Because it can be used for "hunting and sporting"
Don't assume a judge will count the recoil pad as length either!
This is my understanding of the law, but add 1/2" if you're not sure.These are the "truths" ndb86, as I understand them;
1. Any gun shorter than 26", from the factory <snip>, is restricted~period.
Why not? It's part of the overall length of a gun. Much like a shotgun magazine extension adds length to the overall length of the gun.
BZZT, wrong, common misconception though.
correct. henry mares leg for example... I have a marlin singleshot 22 that's only 18-20 inches. I thiny the henry youth model is shorter as well... yup lots of short non-res. Isn't the DA outlaw non res?
Yes, but it is removable. It could be argued it isn't a permanent addition.
If you are under OAL without it, you could be charged if it was found in that state.
YMMV
