I emailed mossberg enquiring about a short barrel (less than 20") for my mossberg 500 20ga. They said that they did not currently make any but if there was interest they would consider it.

So anyone interested in a short barrel (as short as will fit with a 5 round tube mag which would be around 16" on a 20ga)

Super weird. No lie I was just logging on to start a thread asking if shorter than 18" mossberg barrels can be found.

TBH I want a 14". :(

Mossberg 500 SPX #51523 12ga 6-shot 18.5" barrel is short enough for me...

Not sure if 14" is possible with the standard 5 round mags on the 500 (please correct me if I'm wrong or do you guys want short mag tubes as well)

Mossberg does make a 590/5-round tube/14" barrel.

There are some in Canada but the US Gov has not allowed export for many years, unless it's to police users.

Keep an eye on the EE and be prepared to drop about a grand for one.

Would love a super-short (ala Dlask) barrel for any pump-mossberg w/shortened tube kit. I believe they are threaded so the end user could do the swap.

Just got another email... they require "1000 units over a period of time"

If they made them available in Canada, they would probably sell 1000 in a fairly short period of time. Just look how popular the Norinco/Grizzly short pumps are.

Their marketing team just needs to figure that out.

It wouldn't have happened anyway. The US won't currently allow export of any shotgun barrel under 18".

It's really too bad that Lakefield isn't owned by Mossberg anymore. They'd have been able to make short barrels no problem. I suppose they'd still need export approval from the US, since it's US technology.

A custom 14" 20 ga for the wife would be wicked.

I ended up just cutting mine anyway but would buy a 20ga and 12ga in 14" for sure.
