Short o/u (such as Hatsan Optima Synthetic Slug)

So here it goes and you can call me crazy but I would like to get a short barrel (18.5-20") 12ga O/U. So all ive been able to find so far are:

Hatsan Optima synthetic slug;
Khan a-tac;
Maverick hs12; and
Stoeger double defense (which I don't want because of the sequential trigger)

Does anyone have any experience with any of these? Or should I look at shortening something else?

Are there any of the supporting dealers that may have one of these in stock (I'm leaning towards the hatsan at this point)?
 
I have the Maverick HS12 Hunter 28" barrel. Excellent gun. Got 100 shells through it. Around the $389 price range at Cabelas. Fit and finish was excellent.

If you want the shorter barrel you have to get the tactical version HS12 but then i believe it is open barrel only meaning no chokes. Wantstalls has some maybe coming in?

The Hatsan and Khan look good too! Not sure where they come in price and availability wise.
 
PS the Khan looks exactly like the Maverick by Mossberg HS12. Both are made in Turkey if I remember correctly. I wonder if Khan is just a relabeled Maverick?

I was wondering about that myself, they do look surprisingly similar and Kahn has a link to mossberg on ther site. Probably mossberg outsources to them. I assume with your maverick that the barrel selector is on the safety?
