Short shotguns

Id deal with corwin arms. They they behind what they sell and will make it right if you need anything
I had one of their sinsinati folders but in 12ga with a longer barrel. They do sell short 410s. 410 gun is lighter and so is ammo. If you hike like i do the less weight and less bulk the better

The SINSINATI is exactly what I am looking for but I don't see any 20 gauge listed on the website. I might have to contact them or find another retailer that has them.

20g, removable chokes, external hammer, brake action and folding are all the things I am looking for. The price is right too.

Looking at the Dominion and SINSINATI it looks to be the same gun with a different brand?

The worst part about getting something from Corwin is that he gets them in small batches, so if you don't just while they're in stock you could be in for a wait before they come back again. Get in touch with Martin there though, he can tell you if there's something coming soon, or sometimes he will have a few spares for warranty issues or one offs as samples from the factory. But it's definitely a website you want to check in on every few weeks to see what's popped up.

Most turkish guns are pretty much the same though, and any price difference is typically for a higher/lower level of QC, more/less features, and/or product support from the retailer. They will make a new logo for whatever "brand" you want to call them. From what i can tell the warrior/sinsinati are pretty much identical to the Hatsan, Pallas, Dominion, Hunt Group and a few others.

I haven't dealt much with Canam, so i can't comment on how they handle issues, but Martin has always quickly fixed things for me any time i've had an issue. The only thing i notice between the two besides the brand logo is that the Dominion ones seem to be fixed chokes, where the corwin version has removable chokes. Mine came with a flush full, flush cylinder and extended modified.

+1^^^, Martin might have something tucked away that’s not on the website. A couple years back I was looking for something he had sold out of and I sent him an email inquiring about the item, he hooked me up with on out of his personal stock. He’s a great guy to deal with.

How about a STEVENS 301 SINGLE SHOT in 410

This would be my advice, only in 20ga. I think it would be a nicer gun to carry, or strap onto a pack than any pump gun. Maybe worth considering an older Cooey 84 in 20ga (I have one), but you lose the interchangeable choke feature the 301 has. Seems to me...if you're carrying a gun to use hunting, better to have one well-suited to it. The more really short barrels without interchangeable chokes become considered, the further away from a good hunting gun you get. Shotguns are simple things, but length helps you point/swing...interchangeable chokes allow you to tailor the gun to the shot type/size, and distance you're able to engage from.

If quick follow-up shots (good to have) are a key consideration, I'd look at a Mossberg 500. The aluminum receivers make these guns feel significantly lighter than 870s.

Corwin had the 12 gauge, with ejectors and 3 chokes on for around $130. Ish during Black Friday, might do you a deal, I understand you want 20 ga. I would like one of those too ,but, I just ordered 3, 12 gauge from him last week! When they come in, I will get a 20ga. Also! The 12 are not all for me, when Martin has a deal going on, I contact friends to see if they want in, saves a bit on shipping!

I might add...and it's not really a "political" thing for me...but I've seen precious few Turkish-made guns I'd ever consider owning myself. I don't have a big budget, but I do have a sense of "pride of ownership" with the things I can afford. The Steven's silver and I are suggesting are made in China, but are (what appears to be) a faithful copy of an American design like the H&R. I've been considering getting one for a month or more, and I need another shotgun like I need a kick in the a**! lol

I own a Cooey 84 as mentioned, and one would be hard-pressed to beat one of those for an econo, reliable single-shot shotgun. Mine is fixed/MOD from the factory...so the choke is already well-suited to what I use it for. Most 20ga Cooeys I found while looking were FULL choke.

I needed a simple light and reliable shotgun for my airplane survival kit. I used a 12 ga Cooey single shot. Barrel was cut at 20" I had birdshot, buckshot, slugs and flares for it.

You could buy a Cooey 410 cheap, bob the barrel, and have a gun very suitable for grouse. Most shots I have taken on a grouse were very close and my air pistol did the job. A 410 cylinder bore would be effective.

What are you flying, if you don't mind me asking?

How about a STEVENS 301 SINGLE SHOT in 410

I purchased one in 410 from P&D and the chamber was way off center from the bore
P&D didn't reply to my emails on the issue but Savage Canada paid for the shipping both back and forth to have it exchanged.
The exchanged shot gun is almost good but still the chamber is a bit off from the bore.

note: the Stevens 301 are made in CHINA!

I would return it for the money if I could

If you are in a hurry, Westrifle has both .410 and 20 gauge in 13" but price is almost double what Corwin charges when he has them, $225. And 16" are $199. Same shotguns different name stamped on them, both Turkish I believe!

Just buy a quality made single shot and cut it down, much better than the Turkish / China offerings IMHO

I've had four Turkish shotguns and only one was satisfying from the get go. The single shot folding guns are POS and the chokes they deliver with it are jokes . A well preserved Cooey is twice the gun in every aspect.

I bought a single shot Sinsinatti 12 guage off the EE for $100. It is a 26" 12 guage and I have used it all year for hunting. It has been fed a steady diet of 3" steel BB all fall for geese and seems fine. I am happy with it, I have a buttstock shell holder and reloads are pretty quick.

Does it actually break down in parts like a real break action gun or does it only fold?
