Shortage of Lowers in Canada

I like stag stuff and my next Ar (when?) will be a stag in all liklihood. That being said, I must say my new Dlask seems light years ahead of the older white paint ones I've handled at the range. No pin hole problems - that's for sure!

Only problem I've had so far was an out of spec detent pin in the DPMS parts kit I used but that's another story... (it was improperly heat treated and the tip sheared off against the takedown pin detent holes)

After all this, how many CGN'ers are really going to buy a stripped lower in the next 60days. I mean money on the table type buying...

If that is less then 6, you now know why the prices are a little more on this side of the border.

The process to import firearms does take a bit of leg work on the importers side. No one likes to work for free so, if you want to play, I guess you gotto pay.

The last time I did this it took right around 3months from start to finish. That also included a few courier costs, long distance phone calls and dealing with the screwy exchange rate on top of fore mentioned hassles.

If I hadn't just bought a Dlask lower three weeks ago, I would be plonking down $215 RIGHT NOW. ;)

I might buy another lower after x-mas to build a 9mm though. Depends on if the 9m mconversion parts from RRA come in and their price. wh ythe hell not - I've only got 2 AR15's (Colt A2 and an M4gery) and that's probably not enough, right?

FWIW, Armseast and I had a chat over pm on the old board right before it went down where I found out I could have saved a few dollars buying Stag instead of the Dlask/Armalite rig I bought instead, but truth be told my stuff was all bought and paid for just days before I even found out there was a Stag dealer in Canada!!!

Them's are the breaks, I guess.

I would be interested in one more lower but I would like to have custom engravings on it, I remember a few guys talking about a group buy on custom lowers but it never went anywhere.
I would put my money where my mouth is on a custom lower at a premium price, time isn`t important either but ordering just one would be too expensive.

what do you mean, dlask made a bunch of CGN lowers where people had the option of custom serial numbers and such, they where laser engraved with the CGN logo.

Not those one these were going to be custom like, fire controls would be marked safe=CHILL ,fire=Rock and a fake auto=#### YEA with some kind of logo on the side.

I can see why it went nowhere. That engraving sounds STOOPID. Kind of like "would you like black pijamas with you custom AR15 order?"

One cool engraving though is that a company in the US is making lowers with a play on Colt's "For Law Enforcement Use Only" engraving by having them engraved "For Civilian Use Only". Quite funny.

In honesty, I would pay LESS for your dream lower than for a standard one as it seems childish and promotes a culture we gun owners DO NOT NEED if we are ever to be taken seriously and combat the antis.

"For Civilian use only"....I want one.

As for OZZs Dream Lower...SHUT UP! If he wants one he should get one. I happen to think that it'd be kinda cool. And just to play devil's advocate here, having guns at all....especially the "black" ones make the antis look down on us. Having a sense of humour never hurt anyone...

LOL , I forgot the logo would be 666 satan rules, I kill babies with this gun
I bet your wife dresses you Mr Vanilla :)

OK, well we'll agree to disgree then. It's not for me, but if you want to order one then go ahead ;)

Now if Dlask does another run of CGN lowers that would be something I could get onboard with :)

Would be cool if we could get them to do the "civilian use only" engraving too... lol.

Here's an interesting lower engraving: "Cal Multi" ;)

And here's the Civilian only marking (lower is made by SNS):

Here's the same thing laser-engraved into the finish on a Superior Arms lower:
