Im getting the feeling that if you call and pester them like i did today, it will just make your application take longer. They seem to resent it if you try to call and ask about your application status.
Complete non sense, times like this it makes me wish I lived in the States.
There is definitely a line between reasonably checking in, and pestering them all the time. Just like dealing with any organization. I want to be on the correct side of that line, know what I mean? How many times you call them?
Remember this is the RCMP here, I hope they don't get too freaked out/suspicious if people appear too anxious... Maybe I'm over thinking it. Oh well,
So i called today to complete my interview and the lady told me "its not at that stage yet" and "there is a minimum 45 day waiting period but it could take longer than that". Basically told 'we will call you'. She also said "I see that you called two days ago", as if it was a bad thing. I can only imagine this is gonna make my application take longer now.
Then i asked her "I thought there was a 28 day statutory waiting period after the date of receipt, not 45 days" and she just replied "No, theres a 45 day waiting period untill you get your license".
I can't believe the amount of inconsistent answers I get from different employees. The last time I spoke to them they said call back in a few days to do the interview.
So whats up with that?
I took the the pal/Rpal on the Jan 20-22, I got my stamped results Feb 17...
Yeah, I realize I am thinking about it too much, just dont wanna end up like one of those people waiting 6 months for it haha.
Plus its disconcerting to hear that there is a 45 day MINIMUM wait period form a CFC employee, when all other sources of info have led me to believe its only 28 day period.
Note: An accurately completed firearms licence application normally takes about 45 days to process. Incomplete and inaccurate information can add additional processing time.
