Shorten PAL Approval Times

So, I called again.. Its with the CFO there is no comments on my file and im waiting for a long ass backround check.

frustrating, I'm in the military and I'm still not trusted enough to have a firearm at my house? ugh

Finally received test results today, so 7 weeks basically. Faxed them in, hopefully things can get processed in the next couple days and printed this week. My 28 days is finished long ago...

Sooo I called and she told me it would take 3 weeks to be uploaded that I could see my online status of PAL when I called, I sent through registered mail and it arrived after 6 days.... it's now been 2 weeks. This is ridiculous

EDIT: I called. Tammy was very helpful and stated the website is currently down for some users and that I should be looking at a 24 hour wait time to check. She was able to check the database from her end and said that I was not in the database yet, after three weeks.
I tried to push my luck a little (pleasantly of course) and requested that she confirm it`s arrival hoping that she would set it on the top of the stack to be processed afterwards but she laughed and said she could not.
Turns out this waiting sucks, my goal of getting my PAL by May 11th is slowly slipping away :(

Applying for rpal from Quebec. I have been waiting since it was showing as received received in mid Jan. Called to see if all paper work was in order and was told that all initial processing was done but that rpals take longer (all that was required was to contact my references who have not been contacted yet).

Does anyone have an idea of what a normal timeline for a Quebec rpal is?

Just a helpful tip for those having trouble getting search results from the RCMP website.

February 20 to 23; take Non restricted and restricted in same course
February 23; Take both practical tests and get results immediately when finished
February 27; complete application and send via regular Canada Post mail
March 2; application received CFC
March 23; appeared online
April 3; Had my phone interview, at least one reference had phone interview (not sure about other). They called me at work and one of my references was there as well.
April 4; Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

That's 33 days and only 23 work days after receiving. i don't know if it makes a difference, but I already had my POL for 10 years.

PS: My wife also took the course at the same time and her application was received at the same time, but she had her interview on March 29. Her status still shows :Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

Just received my PAL in the mail. That's 46 days after being received to showing up in the mail box.

My wife's has also been approved and in the mail. They were delayed a week since they only tried once to contact a reference and finally we just got them to call in.

Getting close now :D

I took the advice in the original post and gave the CFC a call to check for any missing info. Once again I got a very nice representative and she told me that it does not look like I missed anything but they have not entered all the info in my file yet. She said that If I don't get a call for my interview in the next couple days to give a call back back and all the info should be in and they will be able to get my interview done.

Things seem to be moving along just fine now. :)

I'm sure all new applicants go through the same stress and anxiety as I am so it is so nice to have a support group here.
