Shorten PAL Approval Times

In my case i put an extra letter with the date of seperation, and then divorce since it was less than 2 years. I also included a copy of divorce certificate. Make sure to add your name at top of letter so they can reference to app.

In my case it was just a break up of a three year relationship. No divorce. I did mention that I was the one that initiated it, just to get the point across that I am not perturbed by the event lol

They just want to make sure of all angles, on a side note my last reference got his interview today and some of the questions asked were "is he fascinated by violence, shootings etc.."

here's hoping my status changes tomorrow as my 28 days are up lol!

Still no update on my RPAL application, they sent it to the BC CFO last Monday. Lady sounded like I should still be waiting for a few weeks before approval. Is that normal?

What is the online status? Licence issued or in progress? I talked to RCMP last week and she mentioned that for an Rpal application it may get sent to Ontario, so i dont know. Seems like all the CFO's have their own rules.

Its been in progress for the longest time. They received it on October 31st. When I called in last week the BC CFO just received it. I called in today and the lady was like well its been in the BC CFO since last week you have to wait longer (in a kind of rude tone) like she wanted to get rid of me or I annoyed her for calling in.

Anyone know how long it takes for the status to change on line to license printed after all interviews are done?

It have never seen a status that shows 'printed', the status will look like this when done:

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Mine status changed to the above at 00:00 hrs of day 28...as a new applicant I had to wait 28 days. But then I found out that issued does not mean printed, as 3 days later when I called to request my ATT I was told my PAL still had not been printed....would be done in order over the next couple of days.

If yours is a renewal it could be faster as you would not have the 28 day waiting period but the only thing they say on the web site is they try to meet a 45 day service window. Best to call them and ask.

My application is a new one for both Pal/Rpal.. They say on line that it was received 2012/11/20 so that's 29 days ago now.. wonder if I should wait till tomorrow and call in again? From what I have read on this forum the status changes almost instantly after interviews are finished and the 28 days are up.

Yes, your status should have changed yesterday. The status changes automatically when the computer clock ticks over midnight of the 28th day. In your case I would call and ask if there is a problem or if they need further information. It could be they have a question for you and they will send that by snail mail rather than phone you. You can save time by calling them.
