Shorten PAL Approval Times

Down to the wire...will my license show up in the mail today (exactly 2 weeks from issue) or will it be next year?

Happy New Year to everyone waiting it out.

Called CFO today to see the status, the lady i talked to said there is only one small thing left to do, unfortunately the agent handling my file it is off today, the office is closed tomorrow so looks like the issuing date will be in 2103 :( At least she said i can get my Rpal number once issued i don't need to wait for the card :)

Happy New Year to all especially to the ones waiting!

No dice for me today :( Here's to a happy Wednesday suprise!

Me too...I think Canada Post has stopped my Monday delivery and never bothered to announce it, seems I never get mail on Mondays.

Maybe we'll both get lucky Wednesday through Friday and we will then indeed have Happy New Years. (So much for the 28 day waiting period, they don't take into account their printing delays or the postal time). This has got to be the longest most frustrating government service I have had to deal with....on second thought the Nexus Card process is sucks big time ...LOL

Happy New Year Everyone

Get ready for more frustration when you're waiting on a transfer for a restricted.... Allegedly it's taking 3 to 6 weeks for the BC CFO to process them right now :p

Yes business transfers are being done in priority. Mine took 10 days. Personal to personal the bccfo office is running 4-6 weeks right now.

Crap, the one that's been in the longest is a consignment from a gun store, so technically a personal to personal I think. The other is a business transfer but it was only submitted on the 18th. And the wait goes on... I just want to go to the range!

Happy New Year...my license arrived in today's mail.

Interesting that the back of the card indicates "issued by the Chief Firearms Officer of British Columbia under the authority of the Firearms Act Statutes of Canada"...the cover letter is from the RCMP not from the BC CFO

Next thing, we know, they'll be sending our applications via Buckingham Palace for pre-approval rubber-stamping.

Yes, thanks for bringing that up...LOL...I'm going up to the Hat on Friday with my 12 Ga to check it out, now that I can buy cartridges and legally carry the shotgun. I may stop at Pullen's on the way and order the GSG 1911 that I have been coveting. I'm heading south next week for a few weeks so it would be ready for pick up when I get back and I can load up with accessories south of the border. Now if I can just remember all that orientation day stuff...seems to long ago.
