Now, where'd I put that credit card.

I tried calling earlier today, and if the agent is to be believed it won't show a status change until the cfo rubber stamps it and they get it back in order to print and ship it.

I'm in exact same boat as you are.

Man, are the provincial CFOs different, or what? From the time it took my buddy to text me and tell me he'd finished the interview process, to the time I signed on to check (not more than half an hour), the status had changed from in process to approved. I wonder if they don't get forwarded the application as soon as the RCMP gets it, and do their stuff in parallel. Or maybe it's because they've already reviewed and stamped your test scores. After all, I should also add the month that it took for my scores to be mailed to me so that I could then send them back to the CFO via the RCMP.

Congrats, not sure if you joined a range, but it feels great the first night you can shoot without a supervisor :)

Joined the RA centre. Been a member since October. Hated having to ask a volunteer to supervise me each time I went to the line. Off to them Monday night to get my "green" card.

Thats about right. Mine was received Feb 7, and online March 1.

Unfortunately one of my references didnt sign the application, so ive had to send in the completed application again. ExpressPosted it last night, should be there by the end of the week.

Wifes was all mailed/appeared online same days, no errors. Interviews have yet to take place.

Application received on 02/15 and appeared online 03/12... We'll see how that goes...

From the posts I've seen here I've come to the conclusion that the BC CFO's office is slow as molasses. My application was received on January 24th, interviews were on February 28th and as of right now my online status is still "in progress".

Have you been calling in? I just mailed my PAL (not RPAL) application today. Do i still have to do interviews if its not RPAL? what takes so long? I don't really want to wait longer than a month, the fact it took a month to show up online is ridiculous.

Well, just thought I would chime in - haven't posted much on here, but lurking around a lot. Passed my CFSC and CRFSC on Sunday. Sent my application via registered mail yesterday (Tuesday the 12th). Now it is just a waiting game. Goind to follow the instruction on this thread and hope for the best. If there is anyone in Ottawa that wouldn't mind having a Noob accompany them to the range, please let me know.

There is a sticky thread in this forum, "a place for newbies and mentors to meet Ontario" certain you will find someone there.

The only issue I know of with regular snail mail is you don't have a received on date. It's probably about March 1'st, but you cannot know for sure. I'd suggest calling on Tuesday with "Hi, noticed my application is in progress. Did you receive all the paperwork you needed? Yes? Great. I'll call back in a week or so and do my interviews? Yes, I'm aware the officer will attempt to contact me but I'm away from my desk / phone quite often through the day and don't want to waste anybodies time. Thank you, have a nice day."

Personally I've had nothing but pleasant conversations with the CFC ladies. Hope it goes as smoothly for everyone else too.

There is no requirement for them to go any faster, so they don't. In the eyes of many, it's a system designed to discourage people from obtaining their licenses. I've heard the BC CFO is the former Ontario CFO (I did not investigate that) and Ontario used to have the very worst confirmation time. A coworker who got his license before I (about 2-3 years ago now) waited almost 4 months before it was approved. Getting a license is NOT a fast process in this country, probably on the theory that less gun owners = less gun violence. We can all see where the logic fails in this argument, but that's who's running the show.
