Shorten PAL Approval Times

YES. R/PAL issued!

They received it May 31st, started "processing" it last Monday (July 29th), and after my last reference called in today:

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Looks like the BC CFO is fast today I guess :)

my application is complete and is now with the ontario CFO for final approval. i've read the extension for the CFO is 7503. has anyone called it and has it helped with getting the final approval?

edit. i just called and spoke with a woman. hopefully will find out in the next couple of days.

congrats jiggadog, looks like you are on the home stretch, keeping my fingers crossed you get it soon!
I think that it is a good bench mark to record the time taken to receive the licenses and build up a picture of how in/ effective the issuing department is,
I wonder why they do not consolidate and have the most efficient department issue all licenses, imagine having one photo on file very 5 years to get your drivers, health, passport etc. would be more cost effective

That would require common sense.. the same as using the same size pic as a passport would.. but you know the system is designed to make it as difficult and frustrating as they legally can (not counting their illegal BS)

my license (R-PAL) was issued today!
as i mentioned, application received June 6 and license issued August 8 so 3 months and 2 days total.

Edit..I can't count, actually 2 months for processing application, but 3 months from time I took the courses.

well guys phoned again, and once again told in the beginning stages , that's 56 days of in the beginning stages,
was now told due to high volume it may take a few months before it goes to the cfo in Ontario.

I have been delaying delivery of some livestock, looks like I'll be protecting my livestock from coyotes with sticks and stones, who would ever have thought that would be the case in 2013!
Is there any recourse for this injustice??

Gunny..that's good news. My license was issued within 24 hours of my interviews being completed.

Stuart..sorry to hear that. Doesn't make sense why there is such a range in the processing time between applicants. I spoke with the ontario cfo's office when my application was forwarded for final check and although they told me there was a backlog, my license was issued very quickly. Good luck

Damn this process is trying on ones patience. With the length of the license process and the registration transfer process in BC, I probably wont get to shoot until hunting season is over...wicked lame :(

Update: application came online Aug 5th, called in Aug 6 and was told I would be called for interview some time in followi g week.
Friday Aug 9, 9:00am "Do you have time for your interview, sir?".... Hells yeah! All interviews completed same day

After all that waiting they just issued it and didnt even send it to the BC CFO....let the spending begin!!!

Wonder how long the Ltatt will take (sent that in moday as soon as I had the license number)
