Shorten PAL Approval Times

Yay! Finally got my RPAL in the mail. I'm so stoked maybe by the end of the week I'll finally get to take my Sig home!!!

Sent on July 27
Received my card today October 21!
82 days or so in total.

Then I went to buy some ammo today and they didn't even check my PAL what the hell!?!?! Lol any other time I would have tried I'm sure they probably would have checked if I had it.
 
may be just outta luck. I actually mailed my papers 2 weeks late too cuz i was waiting for the results (dumb move i know). Well all the best to all you folks and i hope you all get urs ASAP.
 
About. Freaking. Time. License was issued today, didn't even take me 2 minutes after finding out to phone Frontier and get them to ship my M305 out here. 135 days to get my RPAL.

did you get the PAL number over the phone?

Cabela's won't even ship a rifle I ordered online for shipment to the store for me to pick up later with my PAL.. they need the # now. It's issued but still in the mail, and they want to cancel my order unless I supply it right away..

I signed up on the new PAL checking site using IE instead of Firefox and it's shown there. However, I believe the Alberta CFO will give you your license number over the phone if you call there.

What's the 'new' PAL checking site? If it is this one: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/online_en-ligne/app_dem-eng.htm
I try to log in, I end up having to do so using my bank password.. If i use GCKey it makes me provide answers to a bunch of security questions and then I can't click the submit button! When I log in the bank password way, it asks for my info and a license #.. If I just put zeroes like it says, it says there is no application currently underway. So where exactly does it tell you your PAL number?

The other site (https://secure.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/eCFISIWS/editLicenceQueryAuthentication.do) that says the license is approved and printed gives me an application number and has all along, but that isn't the PAL number. Am I missing something?

When you get stuck at the page with the 3 security questions, its probably because of your browser. The site is only compatible with IE version 8. Try accessing it with that version, and you'll be able to get passed the security questions page, and you'll be able to see your licence number :)
 
doing the course this weekend.

so i can send the pal application on monday with proof of course to follow?

what about the picture im supposed to send? can i take a pic with my ipod and print if off my office computer?

does it matter who my references are? should they have pals? should they have clean histories?

Thanks! I did manage to get past the security questions page using IE8... Wnen i click on individual web services though, it goes to the canadian firearms program page but on the help page and I can't do anything or see anything about my license... argh!

AHwell.. not meant to be I guess.. Unless there's somewhere else I need to sign up.

I was going to reply semi-helpfully, but you have an interesting amount of posts so I hope you're just jerking us around. If not, my apologies please refer to page 1 of this thread and you should find the answers you're looking for
