Shorten PAL Approval Times

-PAL application sent away on Oct.3 (from B.C.)
-credit card charged on Nov.11
-called CFC on Nov.14, gave some missing info
-called CFC on Nov.18 and was told my PAL is just waiting to be printed, checked for mistakes and sent out

Now should I continue to call once or twice a week until it arrives ? Just to make sure it doesnt end up sitting in a different pile somewhere ?

Took course over summer sent application and results on Oct 22 (didn't do registered but mail from PEI to NB usually takes 2 days) waited three weeks called to ask if they received it, lady checked online instead of anywhere in office, rudely says that it wasn't showing up online and that I had to wait at least 28 days anyway, BS, then gives me a speal about a 6 week back log. Then called Canada Post to check if MO had been claimed, hadn't. Gonna call again tomorrow to pester them. It's all ridiculous in this day and age it should mostly be done via computers just like Taxes, Pensions, EI and all the other Service Canada GCKey stuff, save a lot of hassle time and tax payers money.

Cfsc taken nov8
Mailed app without results nov 14
Aririved at cfo nb nov 18
Called nov 19 told time to get app in system was 4 weeks then waiting period
Is this not insane i told her i know its there i sent it registered mail

Waiting period starts when they receive the letter. So for you Nov 18. Right now they are taking 4 weeks just to enter the system. Then another 2-3 weeks to approve for most people. Not saying its right but that's the general consensus for time right now

Update:

Mailed on: Oct 22 2013

Application Received on: Oct 25 2013

Credit card charged today (november 19th 2013) and it appeared online:
''Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.''

Anyone know how long it takes before they approve this PAL application? Or if they will call me for a PAL?

I might not be home during the daytime.

Call them within a day or two and ask if they are ready for ur interviews, if they're not than keep calling until they are and once the interviews are done they should issue u a license. Good luck

Called them today said they got my application, it's been processed just has to be scanned and entered into the system which can take 48hrs then I can call back for the interview. So much for the 6 week back log they said about last week it's only been a month since I mailed it.

I did my phone interview yesterday, and my references did their interviews today. I am just waiting now. Any idea how long it takes from this point? I've read some peoples license gets issued minutes after the second reference has their interview. Does the application now get sent to Ontario CFO for final approval?

Since it's Bantario it goes back to the CFO for final approval etc etc now.. unlike other provinces (same stupidity as Bantario stamping test papers BS) then is ok'd and issued by the CFC

I just spoke with "Tony" at the CFC. He tells me they have about a 4-week backlog for entering received applications into the system. They received mine October 30th, and it's not online yet.

Sent in August 20
Came back October 22 - Signed the wrong section....
Sent Back next day snail mail.
Updated Nov 5 stating its completed initial processing...
Updated Nov 20 stating its been issued.

General PAL. No calls to references.

I sent mine in & was received Oct 11, chq was cashed Nov 12 and has "completed initial processing" for over a week now. I am upgrading from POL to RPAL, no interviews so far. I already have POL so I shouldn't have the mandatory 28 day waiting period but it has been 6 weeks already. Has anyone else gone from POL to RPAL & how long did it take?

Was your POL For restricted? If not, then the wait period applies I believe. Phone and ask if they are ready for your interviews?

I'm going for RPAL, they charged my CC a week ago, today they told me to call back in a week and do my interview.

Sent Oct 1
Received Oct 9th
Mailed Nov 14th
I tryed calling every week but it did not help they just kept telling me it is being processed until one day it was suddenly "Mailed" hopefully it will come in the mail soon :D

I called the CFC today (day 28 after being received) after it showed up online 2 days ago and the lady on the phone told me that no interviews were required, they were waiting for a scan of my photo and then I should be getting my license.

I don't know how much longer its going to take but I should be getting my PAL pretty soon, yay.

My timeline for my PAL/RPAL from BC
Application Received in Miramichi (including test results): July 22-2013

Called on August 23-2013, application was still in beginning stages

Credit card charged: August 14-2013

Called on Sept 10-2013, application still in the initial processing stage

Called in on October 07-13, and was allowed to do my interview(took 10 minutes)

October 25-13, Both References received letters in the mail and completed interviews

Called the CFC on October 31-13 and lady said it was sent to the BC CFO's office

Called BC CFO on November 14-13 and the person on the other end put me on hold for 2 minutes and approved the application over the phone
(no questions were asked, just said it would take 2 weeks for arrival)

November 21-13 License received in the mail today(exactly 1 week since it was issued)

Total from start to finish: 122 days (4 months)

I'm sure it could of been quicker if I had called in sooner and my references had called in before the letter arrived. Should have been able to shave off around 3 weeks I guess.:ar15:
