Shorten PAL Approval Times

BC Applicant timeline for new Rpal.

Jan 26th Application Mailed.
Jan 30th (Day 1) Application Received and Signed for in Mirimachi.
Feb 20th (Day 21) Application appears online.

Will call on 27th Feb (Day 28) to see if I missed anything on application. Does anyone know if it has to be seen by the BC CFO?

Couple of questions I'm hoping someone here can answer. I completed my CFSC and CRFSC last weekend and am planning to go ahead and submit my RPAL application this week and then send the test results in via fax when I get them.

1) I used to have an FAC back in the late 80s which would have expired in the 90s some time. I don't have it around any more and have no idea what the number on it was. I presume I pick "I have an expired firearms license" and then put something like "no longer have number" where it's asking for it, but wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

2) Under the Safety Training Certification portion I know I leave the "Proof attached" boxes unchecked, but where do you put a note explaining you plan to fax them in later? Somewhere on the form or do you just put that on a separate sheet of paper?

3) When I do get the test results back in, do I fax them right away or do I need to wait until I have a file number assigned to reference them to?

Thanks for any help.

1: Call CFP and ask
2: Don't put anything
3: You need your application number. Give it about 28 days after they receive and check the website. Once you have the application number call CFP and say you want to fax in your results. They will give you the fax number and include the application number on the cover page.

Give it another 2 weeks. Seems like it is about a month after the application number shows up before references can be talked to

I wrote the word "Forthcoming" above each box for results on advise of instructor.

And made sure I indicated No to Question 20C re training Attorney General Manitoba.

After I faxed copies of certificates, I also put copies in the post with same reference number, just to be sure lol.

Thanks for the replies. Getting this sent out tomorrow and the wait begins.

Would that be considered fraud if it wasn't true?

I said it wasnt the full truth, it didnt lie to them. In the summer i will be applying for part time. Pal is not the only licence needed to handle firearms in a store and have the keys to the cabinets (as far as i know)
After almost 5 months im just glad its coming to me finally.

In my case it is true and I let them know this on each of my multiple calls and each time was informed "Sorry we have no control over when they are ready for your references to call".
