Shorten PAL Approval Times

If you've already submitted your application, then you need to wait until it gets assigned a number, before submitting your proof.
Then yes, write that number on the top of the copy that you send in to them.
Always keep 1 set for your records, in a very safe place.

RPal time frame for me:
Mailed May 15.
May 20 Was Received.
June 19 Showed up on website. Saying initial process has started.
June 19 Called in and one reference did their interview.
June 19 Website now saying "Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date."
Hopefully wont be to much longer.

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Any one applied for only Pal (NOT RPAL) is it same approval times ?? My wife's app was received on the 2nd June 2014 and on 26th June it says on online that initial process completed , I would like to know should her refrences call in or don't worry about it since it's only PAL any suggestions ?? Thanks
From what I understand, they don't speak to references for the PAL, only the RPAL. One of mine called in, for my RPAL app. Just call into Miramichi, they are super helpful. It will certainly speed up the process calling in, and finding out anything that needs to be done. I think the slow part is once it hits the CFO(where mine is now).
After one of your references is interviewed, it will be a 28 day waiting period. My best guess is that you will see your status on-line updated to "in progress" now. You should see "license issued" (if there are no problems with your application) next week (July first week).
You are getting close. Then....up to 2 weeks to get your card in the mail.

From what I have experienced your Application should show online 26 days after they receive your application and your licence should be issued writhin 2 weeks after its online
I sent my application in 2 weeks ago today. Theres nothing online yet. I phoned last week and the lady said call in 6 weeks and see where its at. Been trying today and they wont even take my call and now been on hold for 25 mins due to "high call volumes" as we speak im on hold. Any other ideas?

BRO sorry to say but you are rushing too much i know we all wanna get it fast but Please Please Please wait 28 days after they have received your appliation because it wont show up online 26 days after they have reveived it and your licence will be issued 2 weeks after it start showin online its not that hard to understand no matter how many times you call em its worthless unless its started showing up online

Allowing for Canada Post delivery times and the mandatory wait, check online around July 18-22. Once you can see it, they can work on it. Nothing will be done prior to that. If everything is inline and goes well, should be issued around the first week of August.
