Shorten PAL Approval Times

I wouldn't worry yet my rpal was received march 12 and they forgot to send to bc cfo till i called friday may 18.

A week and a half later I'm still being told my application is with the BC CFO. My application was initially received April 13th. Does anyone know a number for the BC CFO? All the ones I can find are either out of service (wtf?) or fax lines.

Thanks,

Just wanted to add my tracking to the stats:

2012.03.31: courses taken/passed PAL/RPAL
2012.04.10: sent application and related documents registered mail
2012.04.13: Application received @ Miramichi
2012.05.02: Application shows up online
2012.05.09: request for info letter shows up in the mail
2012.05.10: Called in with info, interview done, reference interviews done

*Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress.*

2012.05.14: Called CFC for status update since online status hadn't changed. Informed that 1 reference interview was outstanding. "WTF" occurs.... Call reference and ask if he can all in again. Reference redoes interview and mentions that he called in last week. Interviewer shows there was a call logged the same time he had called last week (reference has call logging at work) but apparently the interview wasn't entered into the system. "WTF Redux" occurs.....

Reference called me immediately after interview redone, online status checked:

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Duration: 31 days including 2 hiccups.

Just an update:

Checked the mail today and low and behold there was my card (May 22). It may actually have come in on Friday (18th) since I didn't check the mail until today.

You've lost out on two days of buying guns! Go play catch up now! lol

"MAY HAVE...." and technically it would be 3 LOL

Trying to convince a buddy to sell me is Mossy 930 SPX since he has a Benelli M2 incoming... :D

Also saw a couple of nice pistols from sponsors....... choices choices....

Firearms office is closed today, for a power outage....till 4 p.m. Atlantic

Wonder if this has to do with my FedEx delivery of my forms today ending up in Dieppe, NB instead of Miramichi. Hopefully the office is still at 171 Duke Street or I'm screwed. Good thing I made photocopies.

April 28/29 - PAL/RPAL course completed and passed
May 22 - FEDEX forms to 171 Duke Street, Miramichi, NB
May 23 - FEDEX tracking says Dieppe, NB, Delivery Exception, Customer Not Available or Business Closed.

I'm thinking, why the heck is my package in Dieppe? I got the postal code and address correctly.

Stores were closed on Monday but I guess you could've shopped online. lol
I'm going to be so broke this year! :p

Just an fyi for the BC applicants.

The BC CFO has asked for 3 months to process rpal applications. It is unlikely to take that long but it can.

That sucks. Mine landed in NB on March 23 and has been with the BC CFO for about at least 2.5 weeks... :(

Edit: and that's just for my non-res. pal

I just called in to ask the progress of my application after checking the website and it saying still in progress. i asked the lady what stage it was at and whether or not my photo had been scanned into the file yet. she said it had been scanned but it was still in process. i mentioned that i had my references interviews all completed as well as my own. i said im just curious as to the process involved and asked for her name . said thank you and hung up check the website 2 seconds later guess what approved and issued! i bet she just had to click something for it to go ahead. that is too much of a coincidence as far as im concerned.
