Shorten PAL Approval Times

anyone else having problems with the website?? Last night it was bugging me to enter 3 security recovery questions but wouldnt actually let me submit them, and now this morning I cant log in because of an SSL error. Weird.

You should really try with Internet Explorer. It doesn't support properly all other browsers.

thanks for the quote, that site works MUCH better than the one I was trying. No idea why they have multiple portals for essentially the same thing.

It shows that my application was received on December 27th, but was only entered yesterday. I just tried calling to do my RPAL interview, but the lady said to try back in a week. I'm just glad to see it wasn't lost in the mail! Considering I waited 10+ years to finally challenge the exams, it's been incredibly painful waiting for the app to show up lol

Call every 2-3 business days.... Sometimes, or well all the time they say 1 or 2 weeks, they really mean 1-2 DAYS. Stay friendly and polite. Just asking if they need anything from you, or if they are ready for anything. They try to make it hard for people applying!
Expect it all to take 40-60 days from when they say they received it.

10 Jan: Application received (thanks tracking number!)
14 Jan: Called, told unable to check if in system.
23 Jan: Called again today, asked to check if in system. Still nothing. Nothing charged to CC yet either...

Okay, so I wanna make sure that I have the jyst of all this down. The girlfriend and I are going in early February to take our CFSC for our non-restricted PAL.

So:

Take the course and subsequent test, pass, then two options:
1. Submit our applications immediately (preferably by registered/trackable mail), then submit the official test results whenever her/I receive them using the same method.
2. Wait for official test results and submit our applications and results as one package via registered/trackable mail.

Then, once it is confirmed "them government folk" have received them, check the RCMP site until it shows it is in processing.

Once processing, contact them to confirm that all required info has been received, provide any missing details (thus speeding up the process), then simply wait until the waiting period/processing is complete, for the licenses to arrive in the mail, then Bob's your uncle.

Do I have this thing understood correctly?

Perfect, looks like you're application is about a week ahead of mine so hopefully this will be a good indicator of when I should get mine. I do notice you live much closer to the office than I do though....

I will post info as I get some.

Does anyone know anything about Mirimachi taking over duties of ALL CFOs?? I just called the Saskatchewan CFO (got Kelly at Mirimachi) and was told that soon all duties of provincial CFOs would be taken over by them.

Great so far other then the expected extra 40 day wait for PAL applications.... 40-85 day minimum, that is not official yet? Anyways, not good for the newerbies! Glad I got mine a month ago!

It takes ATLEAST 28 days for your app to show up online. They are going to be going through some changes in the near future. Word has it, it'll take a lot longer to get the PAL, ie. 100 days.... I don't know when or if this will come into effect.... But there is word of good changes too on other topics.

Hang in there, it's a pain I know!

New guy here. Wrote exam Nov.26th, sent all registered Nov.28th. Waiting patiently but have tried to call several times, cannot even get through....recording......arrrgh

UPDATE : PAL received in mail Jan.17th, so all told 51 days from mail out to arrival at my door. Not too bad, considering Christmas holidays in there. When I did get through on phone on the 15th, nice woman said it had been approved the day I posted here and mailed.

Shopping !!

congrats! did you get your RPAL as awell?

I called... they said they won't be able to start processing the application until around 4 to 6 weeks due to backlog of mail.

I'm in Calgary and we receive the test results immediately after the course/test. I was advised by the instructor to send in the original test results (non-restricted and restricted) along with the application. Will these be returned to me? I forgot to ask the person on the phone about this.

Thanks.
