Shortening a 1886 lever action

I have a pedersoli 1886 with 26” octagon barrel and full length mag tube. I’d like to have to barrel and mag tube shortened and front sight reinstalled on the shorter barrel. Does anyone have any suggestions for gunsmiths that do really nice work in Alberta? Or anywhere in Canada I guess.
 
Just a thought - I don't know what your emotional attachment is to this piece - but, it would be much more cost effective to try and trade this, for a similar one, in the length you're looking for. Could always try a "WTT" on the EE and see if you get any action. Plan "B" would be the (expensive) gunsmith route. Sorry - can't help you there, but there are gunsmiths on here that should be quite capable of what you're after. Good luck.

I thought about trading or getting another gun but I don’t like the crescent moon stocks, this one has what I think they call a shotgun style buttstock. Also really like the octagon barrel and casehardened reciever. I really like the gun, but sometimes think I’d like it to be shorter. If it’s going to be really costly to shorten then maybe I should just keep it as is.

I don’t reload and I have never seen 45-90 ammo on the shelf anywhere. I do think that round is very interesting along with the 50-110. I have watched lots of videos from leverguns50 on YouTube and it makes my 45-70 look like a 22 plinked haha
 
Corlanes in Dawson Creek can do it. Its not terribly expensive to cut/crown and put in sights. Is there a barrel band that will need to be relocated? Or threaded dovetail?
My brother had similar done to his marlin. Went from 22 to 18.5
 
Cutting and crowning the barrel will be the easy part.
Reinstalling the front sight and reworking the magazine assembly will take time.
The job is not going to be inexpensive.
