Boomer did your co-worker have to do anything to the gas ports on his BAR?
The rifle was purchased used with the modifications already made, so I don't know. The only thing that really changes by shortening the barrel is the length of time it takes the bullet to exit the muzzle, from the time gas enters the port, so I don't see that reliability would be effected, since the system is already charged, and the bolt is moving.

This morning I received more information on the BAR. Apparently the custom work was performed by Dlask, at the request of a previous owner, and no modification was made to the gas system.
