Shortest AR collapsing stock?

Okay, so I'm doing a NR build (MDI SLR) and looking to add an AR collapsing stock.

With the 18.6 barrel it will be just about an inch shorter than the hard flight case I want to use for it.

I'm buying back a little bit of real estate by using Brownell's short muzzle brake rather than a birdcage or some other option. But I want to shorten the back end, too.

When I collapse the stock on my AR, I notice there's about 3/4" between the end of the buffer tube and the back of the stock. That could be remedied for storage by shaving 3/4" from the front of the buttstock piece, but it'll look crap.

Are there any aftermarket options that sit close to flush with the buffer tube when collapsed? Surprisingly, I couldn't find any head-to-head comparisons online.

How about the MVB Arc stock. It is very short. Uses a proprietary buffer tube that comes with the stock but uses standard both carrier group

The MVB ARC or the Maxim PDW stock are the two best built, as well as the shortest, of the collapsing stocks. Be prepared to pay accordingly however. Both use a standard BCG, but use shortened Buffers and nested Operating Springs. Both are sturdy and quick/easy to deploy or collapse. Reliability has been 100% with both systems.

If you just want to shave a couple of inches off of a standard collapsing stock, then go with the LWRCI Micro Buttstock Assembly available from Brownells for just over $100 US. It is also excellent quality.

I'm going to go with the LWRC micro. Basically I just need to buy back an inch or so of space.

I may try the ARC or the Maxim in future. I need to put my AR receiver beside my SLR receiver to make sure their aren't any protrusions on the SLR that could get in the way of a PDW stock's arms.

even thought about getting a 20" barrel and having a smith cut and crown to 18.6 then have ports milled in, basically a built in brake?

I did think about that, but I'm going with a barrel that's manufactured of 18.6 because I want a mid length gas system. I have yet to come across a 20 inch barrel that doesn't have a rifle length system.
