Thought I'd post a couple of pics of my Dlask 7.5"CQB in its most current config. Really happy with the set up....for now.

OP; I am currnetly trying to sell a 10.5" LMT in the EE, I am asking a bit more than you have in your budget, but I'm a little 'backed up' from x-mas........ Check my sig if you are interested....... * :D Shameless plug!

I really like the LMT offerings I have found them to be of the highest quality. My first shortie was a Dlask 10.5, My second & 3rd were LMT's (both 10.5's). I am going to keep one for S&G's, but as far a practicality....... I personally think 14" is a better 'all round' barrel length. I currently have 5 AR's from 10.5" to 20", when I am done my winter 'purge' I should be down to 3 or so....... Any more than that and I never seem to shoot one or two......

Cheers!

I love the 7.5" barrel length.
The barrel is custom, profile is based off of an LMT 10.5" profile. Gas port is opened just enough to reliably function with off-the-shelf .223 ammo.
Smooth, reliable shooting :)

A Magpul AFG on a gun so short (or so close to the mag well) is wasteful.... unless you shoot with the stock all the way out. The point is that you can grip the handguard more evenly with your arm outstretched and elbow locked... on a gun that short it's difficult to get a good 'high thumb' grip to really utilize the AFG.

I had a stubby vertical grip but found it made my AR feel top heavy and "flop" from side to side. My wrist never felt locked in when holding the VFG. Probably due to the limited mounting options on a short barrel.
Although it my be "wasteful" I find the AFG is a good compromise for the way I shoot. I mounted it as far forward as possible and it seems to work fine with the stock fully extended. YMMV

....what's a "high thumb" grip on a AFG?

Hey if it works, fair enough! I've tried the AFG very close to the magazine well, and it was just not comfortable to me.

High thumb grip or thumb greak grip:

How ironic! I was using this grip when I had the VFG on the AR and didn't even know there was a name for it.
I'll try the AFG for now and if it doesn't work out I could always change it.
That's what I like about AR's....so many options. Someone mentioned that the AR is a guy's "barbie doll" (ie. lots of accessories);)
