Shorty, Archangel, CASM, Range report

ive never had the first round do that.. but a couple of my M14s have had the last round shooting approx 4" high .. rectified it by editing the follower slightly ( on the factory 5 round mag ) and inserting a dummy round as the last round

semi autos here in NZ can have 7 in the mag though

Try some 150g bullets with 41.5g Varget and NATO brass. This is an awesome load, better than the 147g load at 2750fps with the IMR 4064 powder that you find in the cartridges of the world book.

This may be late, but if I could make a couple of suggestions.

Those M-14 gents of expeirence that I have chatted with suggested that the preasure curve of Varget is not quite right for the M-14 pattern rifle.

H4895 was the suggested choice, with IMR 4895 being a close second. The old Stanby of Imr 4046 also works very well, but you must weigh every charge as the long extruded grains do no work well in a volumetric powder dispsenser.

Futher, they suggested, and Mystic player's experience shows this to be true, the 155 SMK Palma bullets seem to work very well in the M-14.
In some cases, and some rifles, it out prefomed the heavier 165-68 class bullets, even at longer distances.

This simply offered as food for thought.
