standard tuned norinco 2007, UTG trirail, dlask NAV (vortex type) flash hider, Eotech 552 A65 and one of my custom M14S-CQB stock with generic furniture.

Nice stuff gents ... I have a Norinco M305(hoping to rebarrel to 18.5), McMillan folder stock/pistol grip, USGI trigger, SMITH muzzle brake, USGI Bolt, spring, GG&G bipod, spring guide, ARMS 18 mount I want to use for a shorty project ... been collecting this stuff for a long time now ... hopefully I can get this done this year.

I'm looking at a fellow CGNer to purchase and rebarrel it yes. I will need to epoxy bed the McMillan stock yes. I've had this project in my mind for a few years now and slowly collecting the parts ... hoping I have enough funds to get the project actually done this year.
I'm not sure what scope I'm going to go with as I have a Leupold Mark 4, possibly purchasing a S&B ... we shall see I suppose how the $$$ goes. Keep your shorty projects/pics coming. Cheers,Otokiak

Here's my M14s with a USGI stock chopped and a ATI style butt stock/pistol grip graphed on.Looks funky with the 5 rounder, couldn't find a pic with the 20/5. Still like the wooden stock as these short ones become muzzle heavy which is a pain for me when it comes time to change mags

Chopper, isn't that a chopmod AKM stock lazerus was talking about? Looks cool! Seems that we have a few common choice on components!
toya, good to see pics of the rig complete. That M14S-CQB stock you have from my bench is a one of a kind
i chop modded a clone KAC RAS type handguard rail system and "grafted" it to the stock to make it the forstock instead of a handguard hehehe. I see that she is holding up just fine
I'm working on a second one of those with the aluminum, railed forestock as we speak but i'm keeping it for me here's another one of my favorite shorties from a couple years back that i sold..... silly me
then there's Gothmog's norinco shorty in dura coat tan wearing one of my M14SA2 Hunter stocks, he was kind enough to lend her to me for a 2 week hunt up nortern BC.

the 2 shots that sound like a double were intentional and not a malfunction

One of kind eh? Thats what most people think at the range too, makes me
I like its light weight too (compared to my MCS 1st model) Even the classic looking shorty below is very nice, keeping the setup quite simple too.
Now that i've solved the fail-to-feed troubles, I always get the itch to bring it out the range! Last thing to fix is the front sight, I'm going to need a taller one to make it cowitness with the aimpoint...

I chopped it long ago - before Laz - His I believe is longer at the bottom front, sort of Ferrari'ish.

What stock is that top one? Looks like a laminate?
Chopper's Chop Mod AKM was the inspiration for my slightly longer version.
My AKM chop mod covered the op rod with lower fore stock,
but the hand guards are about the same length.
And I set my chop saw to a much racier angle, for that gofast Ferrari look,

Here is my current and LAST shorty M14,
built with KISS and minimum $$ as the guiding principles.
Note the neato front sight/comp set up.
PS: this one IS for sale, without the folding stock.
After chopping some where around 80 plus M14s, now it is time to introduce my AR 10/R25 to the chop saw.
PPS: back in the 80s [ that would be the NINETEEN 80's ] I chopped the very first Genuine AR 10 into a flat top/M4 type shorty, with a tubular butt stock, AR 15 hand guards and pistol grip, and a SET trigger.
Gonna make an 18.75" shorty out of my R25,
move to the US,
and take it out now and then for some sun shine!!!

LAZ 1
Top one is a Boyd's pepper laminate. A bit heavy, fat palm swell, quite comfortable to shoot though. Looks sweet too.
