Shorty M305 Range report

I got out to the range to try her out. I fired 50rnds of 7.62nato function was 100%, It was raining a bit so acuracy is probably better than what I got, which was 3''-4.5'' 5shot groups at 100 meters. I have only alinged the op rod guide and properly lubed it. after I got home I did a complete tear down and cleaning, I even removed the welded on flash hider thanks to hungry's video and s#$ty chinese plug welds. So next will be to unitize the gas system and adjust the gas nut fit.

If your gas lock ring is not getting tight at the 5 oclock position and really snug at 6 o clock a shim is required to tighten it up. But before you add a shim take off your flashider again and take off the gas lock ring , turn it 180 degrees and thread it back on , you may find it tightens up at the right location then.

If it is still too loose get a shim for it...if you dont have one let me know

I alredy tried that and it gets tight at around 12oclock so I think I'll just stone the gas lock until it clocks at@4:00. Iwonder if you could unitize the gas system with silver solder? or would that be to much heat?
