shot a crow,all hell broke loose. :)

shoot from cover within your house, leave the body where it falls. I did it a while back. They all freaked out and surrounded the tree where their buddy just fell out of, instant clean kill. Dropped one more, they all looked around freaking out and then left. They havent come within 100 yards of my property line since, and they don't seem to make any noise I can hear. As long as they stay there and do that, they need not fear me:)
 
This is just animal rights crap. I don't know about crows, but geese are also supposed to 'mate for life". This just means that as long as they are both alive, they will be a pair. If one dies, the survivor will find a new mate.

Although, it is interesting to see when one goose is shot, the other will circle back and look for it's mate.

I usually feel real bad at that point, and endeavor to reunite them.
