what a nice freakin gun. beautiful trigger, nice weight to it, 9mm felt like a .22 in it. a bit out of my price range right now, for a pistol, but if I had the money I'd get one for sure.

I've seen one of the X5's at P&D.

damn nice gun, i thought putting down 2000+ on a Mark23 was hard, but that thing is nuts!

I suppose if you have to look at it from a quality standpoint, theres really not that many modern production handguns that can match it... I would put it up with the Mark23 as far as durability goes, the thing is a tank! :D

I hope you two are happy! Why? I had to do a Google search to find out that you are talking about the Sig Arms 226 X5. Regards from your formerly ignorant American cousin, Richard:D

Great gun !

A friend of mine has one and I've been trying to find a gun sutable to give it a run for its money. Well made, tight, accurate, great trigger !

Boy I hate that gun !

Which model did you try Rob?

The standard X5?

The X5 Competition?

The X5 Tactical?

or the X5 Allround?

The Allround is the only DA/SA X5 model so it's the only one that is IPSC Production Division acceptable....

That's what I did. Within a week, Gunnar will have sent me my Chrome Target Master. I'm looking forward to giving you guys a comparo between the X5 and Target Master.

I wonder if you can get the mag funnel on the X5 Tactical. I asked Questar how much a Tactical would be. IIRC it was about $2300.

Actually the X5 Tactical works out to about $1,950.00 based on current exchange rates, if I recall correctly. They are a really sweet gun.

Also really sweet and very unique is the SIG X-FIVE SHORT Blue Pearl from the SIG MasterShop...

Is it just me or would others prefer to sink $2,300 into a custom 1911? Regards, Richard:D

True, but i think the difference is with Sig, the guns gonna work pretty much from round 1 out of the box, whereas even with the high end 1911's you may still need to break it in for it to run reliably.

Of course that could be a load, i've never had any experiance with high end 1911's, only shot a few basic ones (of course none of them jammed anyways)

Good God, that Blue sig hurts my eyes

Mabey they should have just gold plated it! Pimp mah Sig yo!

hmm not sure which it was, but sure which one it wasn't. it wasn't the PD legal one, or the tactical one. It was SA only, and sweet.

That eliminates the Tactical, the All-round (SA/DA with decocker) and the Blue one, so its either the Standard, or the Competition.

So did it have wood or plastic grips?

It is one of these two, i guess the big difference is the grips it has (for noticable looks)

Actually, the blue one is a SAO (single action only) with a MasterShop tuned trigger.

We also have another SAO X-FIVE from MasterShop... the "Scandic" is a full size X-FIVE with SAO trigger, Gold Control Parts, etc...

Here`s my X5 Allround, alongside my 226ST. Ive put hogue wraparounds on the X5. The DA trigger needs a bit of work, but the SA is crisp and perfect for me!
