shot/choke recommendations for 12 gauge for coyotes

am trying out mr. 12 for the coyote season. can anyone give suggestions for shot size/chokes.

29 pellets in a 30" circle at 70yds

In order to have that many pellets (even 29) you would have to be shooting BB or #2 shot, I seriously doubt you'd hurt a yote much at 70yds with that stuff??

I use 00 on wolves out of a mod choke for distances up to 50yds!
Patterned at 30 yds it put every pellet in a 30" circle

I have some 2-3/4" loads that specify that they contain 34 pellets,size #4 buckshot.The 3" loads contain 41 pellets.

At any rate if that choke will keep 29 of 34 pellets in a 30" circle at 70 yds, I would begin to question why you wouldn't just use a rifle? You would almost need sights for a pattern that close. On other hand is #4 buck pellets would weigh? I'm gonna guess 50gns each? leaving the barrel at 1,200fps?? how much power would they have at 70 yds.

One possibility is that he is hunting in an area that only allows the discharge of shotguns.I know several people that hunt deer and coyotes in such areas.

No. 4 buck is a common choice around here, 3" shells, i would use a full choke.

#4 is my first choice and depending on your shotgun I would go with the shell that throws the most pellets. We have shot yotes 73 paces with #4 and over 100 paces with 00 buck. Most of us use mod. choke. Not knowing how you intend to hunt yotes a shotgun is better when they are in a bush? Last year 19 out of 40 were shot with a shotgun.
