Shot count in a good .45

:agree: John Browning created a pistol that no one has bettered in over 100 years.

yep and they never built a better motor too

I would not trust my life to a 1911.....dont get me wrong I like the gun and will always own one but almost everytime I have seen a gun go down its been a 1911

well, he thought he'd bettered it with the P-35/HP design, and i tend to agree. the 1911 was an excellent design for the time, but limited to the machine practice of the day, and systems of locking where still in development. Any handgun using the cam system developed in the P 35 series is superior, thats why no one uses swinging links any more.

For that matter, the rotating lock up of the Styer Hahn was a better system, but WW1 kinda stole the market before it got going.

As a general service pistol the 1911 has many flaws.
