Shot gun for 14 year old

Cooey 840 12 gauge or 20 gauge. Cheap to purchase, easy to use and will work fine on turkey since you're likely to get one shot off only.

He can go crazy and rattle can camo it up himself and if it doesn't turn out, well then strip and start over. He'll love having a project gun to work on. Good memories to be had here.

I agree with PSE . Get a 20 ga. Cooey. It will do the job at hand. No point in thinking the 1 st. gun
will do for the future too , as choices will change with time. Many different choices & purchases will
happen in time. At 75 I am still making different choices to get better equiped.

Bought my son a Maverick 88 youth. He was 12 and only about 90 lbs. The gun is short and light and handles well. It has a double bead on it which really helps with new shooters. I use it for our hunter safety wind up every year when we shoot clays. Just about every kid 14 and under prefers it to anything else. LOP is only 12" so I have a slip on recoil pad handy for the taller kids. My son is able to shoot 3" steel with it for goose hunting also. When he started shooting the 3" shells I added nearly a pound of lead to the hollow synthetic stock. THis made it easy to aim yet tamed the recoil. Just a matter of finding where they are still available.

12ga 870 with a shorter barrel 20-24" is great for turkey. If it's a do all shotgun, get it in a longer barrel.

This would be my choice but one with a two barrel combo and I would grab a variety of chokes.
