I waited 5 years for a Mulie draw.I found this one not sure if I should have held out for a bigger one. But I am happy with this one.I shot him with my Sako 270 WSM courtesy of Mylesrom. The gun did the job not to sure if I like the bullet.I used 130Gr Nosler Ballistic Tips there was quite a bit of blood shot meat.

nice width

and nosler BT best used in cartridges 2800 fps or less @ muzzle, if meat damage is a concern! :)

I would guess the bloodshot meet could have been obviated had the POI been behind the shoulder instead of high in the shoulder (as it looks from the photo).

Nice mulie.

Thats the exit hole it was a slight up hill shot.It was shot throught the lungs. The bullet hit a rib and it looks like it came apart inside.there was some pretty severe damage inside.I guess on the other hand the bullet did its job.

Nice Buck... I would maybe look at a Accubond or heavier constructed bullet for the WSM.... Probably would hold up better..... Glad you like the rifle...

Nice buck, Lorne. :dancingbanana:

I thought you lads out west did catch and release hunting???? :p

I have heard that the .270 WSM (in factory loadings) does tend to cause quite a bit of blood-shot meat, maybe go with a heavier bullet and slow it down a touch? I had loaded up some 140 gr TSXs but only shot them at paper and not on deer - and the rifle has gone to a new home............
