Good question. Would someone be so kind as to post the types of Prohibited Ammunition? I am having a hard time finding the list.:confused:

Those dragons breath shell are apparently made with some stuff called misch metal, the stuff flints on lighters is made of. No idea where you can get it in Canada or how much to use. The shells seem to be banned in several states, but as far as I can remember the only banned shotgun shell are flechettes. They could be things that nobody has gotten around to banning yet.

I remember someone on this board last year mentioned something about trying a load of pennies. :eek: :D

This of course would be very lethal to whatever it hit.
 
In the '50 one of my brothers have been shot in the lower back by a farmer while he was running off after stealing some apples. The farmer was using regular fine table salt in his loads. My brother never went stealing there again.
 
An acquaintance loads roofing nails with the heads cut off as a fun load. On his daughter's wedding day he explained to his new son in law if he ever hurt his little girl....... They've been doing well for the last 12 years.
 
An old old man had a place along the beach when I was a kid and he was rumoured to have some rock salt loads to discourage oyster poachers.

While I do not condone pointing a firearms at anyone. I do know of many people who have had excessive charges, treatment etc. due to today's anti-gun attitude.

there have been many examples cited on CGN... I see you are relatively new, you'll see what I mean in time.
 
Fairly typical rural story, we've all heard of it, and most small towns have at least one old timer who will claim to have been shot at with rock salt for stealing apples etc...
 
All kinds of things can be loaded into shotgun shells. A fellow I know, tells how his father lives in a shotgun zone with a "multiple projectile" rule for big game. Everyone naturally believes this means buckshot. He believes it means a cast slug and two small flat washers. Gets his deer every year.

And yes, Mr. Aldrich in my hometown was widely known and solemly believed to shoot little boys with rock salt for getting into his raspberries.
 
I have worked on a Remington 11-87 Premier that someone had tried to shoot salt out of. Plugged the barrel tight, bent the crap out of the lifter and some of the smaller trigger parts.
Also, don't try "pepper corns", they plug up a barrel tight as well.
