As long as the barrel is over the "magic" number, why wouldn't you? Remeber SIG/Swiss Arms PE-90, AR-180B, XCR, etc...???

I was afraid Bushmaster was going to totally muff this, but have to admit, they are some pretty sweet looking rifles. I actually kinda like them more than the original MASADA prototypes we've seen.

I really like the two rifle length specimens at the bottom of the pics below. Hopefully they'll be classified as sporting rifles for the purpose of export. With the modularity of the ACR system, I'm sure it won't be long before a source of short barrels become available, for those who absolutely have to make a restricted CQB rifle out of it. Here's hoping that the export issue will go in our favour and that Bushmaster produces a high quality rifle.

Because the 417 will be classed as an AR15 variant.

It uses an Ar15 receiver. If you have a fluffy teddybear built on a AR15 lower receiver it would still be restricted.
This masada doesnt use that lower.

By that logic, the LWRC SABR would 100% be restriected also

the 417 lower (and upper) reciever is totally different than the 416 or AR15 reciever, no parts are interchangeable. It is also completely different than the AR10 recievers. No parts are interchangeable between the two, inculding magazines.

So if whomever eventually gets to import them, plays it right, we should be able to get the 417 non-restricted. The 416 will be restricted because it goes on any AR15 lower.


But if the MASADA is able to be imported as non restricted, I may get one rather than a 417 anyways
