SHOT SHOW 2010 - Beretta ARX-160 new Italian Assualt Rifle at SHOT

There we go. I want one.

For some reason I like it a lot more than the ACR (Which I had high hopes for when it was the Magpul Masada) and SCAR rifles.

Nice find there Greentips. Good scouting.

ya ... guess i shouldnt jump too quickly into it ... I dont have that kind of $$ to burn... Hell, i'm still waiting for the M&P 15-22 to be released ... That'll be my next toy... hehehe

But damn ... What a nice one to look at ...

ANYTHING NEW FROM PARA???

if it shoots that well with 77 grainers at 100 yards im guessing a 1-7 twist or so. quite tight for a battle rifle.

The guy in the video is clumsy, I can manipulate the safety like an AR.

yes, the ejection port is open on both sides by default. To change side of ejection, simply stick a bullet tip to a hole on the receiver side to activated a spring loaded mechanism in the bolt carrier.

To switch the charging handle from left to right, pull the charging handle half way and then sway it over the ejection port.

The piston assembly is attached to the barrel.

The bolt release is on the under-inner-side of the trigger guard. The magazine can also be release by pushing the leveler under the trigger guard

Nice looking rifle. Seems very well thought out and practical. I would rather buy one of those than a Beretta Storm any day. :D

Thank's for all the useful updates Greentips!

I keep saying I need another cool rifle like I need to lose more hair, but this looks well thought out, I'm defenitely interested. If and when they come to the civvy Canadian market I don't see getting one right away though.

I'll wait and pick one up off the EE when a gun renter gets tired of his.:D

The Beretta Rep that I talked to at the booth while I was drooling on this told us that it was a minimum 12 months to US production, so all of you who are turning blue from holding your breath start breathing again.

The reps at the show had literally seen the thing for the first time on the weekend, and only one guy at the booth new how to strip it. When Rauch and I were there, he was busy so we didn't get to see it in pieces. Nobody had any idea on price.

.

Plenty of time for some asshat in politics to find a way to prohib/restrict this fine piece of equipment.

I'd also like to throw my name in the hat for one of these... if I can afford one lol.
