SHOT SHOW 2011 - Sig SAN511 - 50 bmg

The tag is incorrect. SG actually refers to Sturm Gewehr, or assault rifle.
The American importer mistakenly called it SG because all the other rifles are true SG's
The correct term is SAN 511, from a German word I dont know.
The cost is supposed to be about $8000or so.
The extra position on the selector switch is for bolt lock.
I've just got home (~12:30PM, so I'm not sorting photos now. I'll put up more soon.
I was at the Sig booth and they had a US made gun on display more prominently. But of course that cannot be exported, so when I mentioned that, they showed me this.
They are now aware of Canada, so we might see them sometime.

SAN = Swiss Arms Neuhausen

Welcome to CGN
I was speaking to Michael Hornoe at the show about this gun.
Always good to hear that export to Canada is not a problem.

Hi Chris
Welcome aboard CGN!!

We HAVE had these same rifles available for 3 years now and as Chris mentioned we have sold many of them.
They are EXTREMELY well designed and well made rifles that are very accurate.
The ergonomics are unreal. These rifles truly fit the shooter, unlike some other 50 cal rifles, no issues with cheek weld or having the scope mounted 2" over the bore so you can get behind the scope comfortably..

We will have them in stock: we are told around March. They should come in with the SAPR samples.

JR

You know, I read this, and I immediately thought of amazon.com, where they do that little promo "Customers who bought this ###X also bought this ###X", and go to thinking about how many SAPR owners will also take a crack at the 511 :D Can't wait till they get it so I can road trip it up to Calgary :D
