SHOT SHOW 2012: Colt AR15 SP901, LE6240P and Expert C15

Looks like Colt is finally having some spare capacity to think of commerical sales. The SP901 was new last year and it would be finally put to delivery very soon. The final MSRP will be 2100ish and selectively fire version will be available to Mil/LE. We got the chance to shoot this again and we still think it is one of the softest shooting AR style 308 semi automatic rifle. The lower receiver in picture had gone through 23,000 rounds.

And the 6940P is finally being delivered as well. The piston system has been flogged by Colt for years but this is finally becoming a consumer product. Compared to the regular direct gas impingment system, the recoil of the 6940P is to faster shooting. The "brown" color of the demo gun is definitely interesting. Also Colt is now marketing a LE6920SOCOM - basicly it is a LE6920 that is dressed with RAS and Matech sight at the factory.

If the M4 logo gives you hard on, your prayer is being answered.

In addition to the more "tactical" AR, Colt is also rolling up its sleeves to get into the 3-gun market.

i believe the bottom one comes with Samson Rail and Geissele 3.5lb trigger. Those match triggers are scarily light! I could easily engage all targets within 200m without much effort.

Pretty decent, but 3 shot goups and horizontal spread do not say too much.

with the lits of noveskie, LMT, KAC and the like pushing hard into canada so re really need to drink the colt cool aid.

Even guns that Colt Canada sells to Canadian Law enforcement require an end user certificate, the same has if the gun came from Colt in the U.S. no difference.

You'll notice the lower portion of the hand guard is removable. This allows access to the barrel and mounting an M203.

This is the upper receiver adaptor that allows regular 5.56 upper to fit onto SP901 7.62. The block fits onto the upper front pivot pin, which in turns fit onto the lower.
