Shot Show 2017 less black guns news?

I was hoping someone would cover more different guns not from big names like the Avidity Arms PD-10. Seems like everyone stops at the same booths.

Because if a company has a little booth buried in the basement of the SHOW, most likely people won't pay attention and just walk past, unless they have a good looking chick. Also, some booth people need to adjust their attitude and actively engage show goers, this is not specific to any company.

I was contemplating attending SEMA as an exhibitor back in 2008. That was while the US economy was in freefall.
The crapiest litte 10x10 booth at SEMA costs $2,000 for members and $3,500 for non members.
That is the booth in the basement with no samples, graphics, pamphlets, swag, electricity, carpeting, displays, booth wenchs, etc.
Add to that your trip to Vegas for 2 people and you can't get out for under $10,000 USD which is about $13,500 Canadian.
Once I realized the costs I simply made plans to meet my customers while at SEMA for a meet and greet.
At the same time I made a point to go by every single booth even those in the basement.

I would imagine that the prices for SHOT are equal or higher since there is a waiting list for SHOT.

I edited your post to show the more political correct version of my rant. :p

There are just way too many booths at SHOT, and too many people. It is difficult to stroll through the aisles and see through the crowd. If I walk past and am not interested in the first sight to warrant a stop....that will be it. If I see people, I am not going to wait 10 minutes there to talk, I need to move on because there is not enough time.

I believe that the SHOT show is only at the Sands Convention Center which has 1.8 million square feet while SEMA occupies the Sands Convention Center and an additional 3.2 million square feet at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Is it just me or are there a lot less new black guns reported during the 2017 SHOT vs 2016?
If anyone know of new black guns at SHOT 2017 but not well publicized, can you please share some info?

My take on this year was damn near everyone is pumping out their own version of the AR-15/M-4/MSR.
I even considered doing a thread on just how many different variations of the same theme I could collect.
Then I thought better of it...
That would be a very repetitive thread.

There's a whole lot less SHOT 2017 reporting overall. Nothing on optics, gadgets etc. Heck, not even a SHOT ladies thread...

Check out SHOT 2016/2015 etc threads. There are 2 pages worth of threads. 2017 is just 29 threads.

Be patient... it'll be published soon...

lol, cabin fever is kick'n in. Looking forward to the pics. :)

Two reasons:
First, there were less models this time. Notable absences were Dillon Areo (no booth at all) and Century Arms ( no Russian girls)
Second, I ended up getting sick while I was there, so didnt get to take many G&G photos.
When I get the few photos I did take tagged, I will post them.

I would believe that the passing of Mike Dillon 2 months ago may have played a part in their decision not to go to SHOT show.

Possibly, yet the Dillon reloading press gang was there at a different area.
The Areo booth is for the military Mini-gun package. This is the one that has done the calendar in the past.

It's too bad that these 2 idiots didn't have enough brains between them to figure out that HK made the striker fired polymer framed VP70 12 years before Gaston Glock.

You say that, but Glock is what everyone is copying...

Point being, any new "polymer" pistol out there gives me the yawn. They all claim to be lower bore-axis, more comfortable grip, less recoil, ya di ya da... it's never ending.

I missed the parts where they stated that Glock invented the striker fired pistol and the VP70 is the most popular CCW pistol in the states....
With respect to mods....I think that was a joke aimed at all of the people that buy Glocks and then, instead of using them as intended, modify the crap out of them so they are more suitable for plinking or competition.
